Arthur ‘Art’ Theodore Solano, 87, of Farmington passed away early Monday, June 27, 2011 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Art was born December 25, 1923 in Trinidad, Colorado the son of Eloy J. Solano and Lita Lopez Solano. Art entered the US Army November 16, 1943 to July 30, 1947 and received World War II Victory Ribbon and the American Theater Ribbon. Art married Anna Lopez on December 1, 1943 at St. Augustine Church in Antonito, Colorado. Art was a retired peace officer and welder. He worked for many years for the Allen Theaters and especially the old Valley Drive-In in Farmington. He enjoyed fishing, music, woodworking and being with family. Art will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Art was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Elminda Wickman, brother Henry Solano and two grandchildren. Art leaves behind his wife Anna Lopez Solano, son Cicelo Solano and gal/pal Emily, daughter Jean Solano Scarpellini and husband John, sister Joy Andrew, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Art will be Thursday, June 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St. in Farmington. Funeral services are pending. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St., in Farmington. Pallbearers are Anthony Medrano, Joseph Medrano, Shane Quevedo, Joseph Solano, George Chota and JJ McFarland.
