Cordova, Arturo “Art” R.

Age 78, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born January 5, 1942 in Socorro, NM to Evangelisto and Maria (Silva) Cordova.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sonia M. Cordova. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Erlinda A. Cordova; son, Juan P. Cordova; granddaughters, Natalia Cordova and Catalina Cordova; daughter-in-law, Consuelo Cordova; many nieces and nephews; his pet dog, Lulu.

He was employed by Albuquerque Public Schools for 25 years and by Hilton Hotels for 25 years.

He was a master craftsman and a jack-of-all trades: DIY projects, home additions, fencing / walls and more with his son, Juan. He was a Master welder who loved to create many items that he sold or gifted, including chile roasters, gates and more. He enjoyed camping, picnics, and day trips to the Jemez Mountains (Jemez Springs, NM); two days before passing Arturo enjoyed a special trip to Soda Dam in Jemez Springs to have a drink of fresh river water with his family by his side. Arturo loved cooking for his granddaughters, Natalia and Catalina, especially homemade tortillas and breakfast. He was also interested in genealogy and learning about his family.

He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
