Aurora Z. Garcia

Garcia, Aurora Z. 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2013 at her home in Socorro, NM. She was born in Magdalena, NM on October 7, 1923 to Mariano and Maria De La Luz (Zamora) Garcia. Aurora was a long time resident of Magdalena. She graduated from Magdalena High School in 1946 and in 1947 she earned her Beautician's license from the School of Cosmetology in Albuquerque, NM. She was the owner of the Magdalena Beauty Shop for over 30 years and later retired in Socorro. Aurora was a very devoted member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and a member of the Guadalupanas. She traveled to Rome and completed several pilgrimages to El Santuario de Chimay� and Polvadera Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Lupe G. Zamora, Amalia Garcia, Rose Garcia Jiron, and Edwigia G. Barreras, and her brother, Hermenio Garcia. Aurora is survived by her loving sisters, Maria Z. Garcia and Isabel Z. Arevellos; and numerous nieces and nephews. Aurora was the strong anchor of the Garcia family and will be dearly missed. A Visitation will take place on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Daniels Family Funeral Services, Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield, Socorro. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:00 am at the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Magdalena followed by the Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 10:30 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Magdalena Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pascual Alcantar, Mark Marrujo, Cruz Barreras, Jimmy Zamora, Richard Garcia, and Luke Zamora.
