Etsitty died Jan. 20, 2010, in Gallup. He was born Aug. 15, 1932, in Chinle, into the Water's Edge People Clan for the Towering House People Clan. Etsitty worked for the Navajo Tribe Water and Sanitation Department, NTUA and Santa Fe Railroad. His hobbies included herding sheep, gardening, taking care of his grandchildren and listening to the radio. Survivors include his wife, Rose Etsitty; sons, Eugene Ross, Arnold Etsitty; daughters, Carmelita Etsitty, Gloria Sampson, Virginia Etsitty, Georgia Manning; brother, James Etsitty of Chile; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Etsitty was preceded in death by his mother, Ason Chee Etsitty; father, Etsitty; brothers, Willard Etsitty, Stanley Etsitty, Etsitty Begay, Harp Etsitty, John Tsosie, Bob Etsitty.
