Age 74, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014. She was born in Kansas City, KS on October 26, 1939 to Emil J. and Mary C. (Algaier) Klingele.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurie; son, Adam; granddaughter, Shelby; one sister; four brothers.
Barbara will be remembered for her kind heart and beautiful smile. She loved the mountains and ocean. She summited many Colorado “14-ers” and traipsed all over New Mexico with her close-knit group of hiking friends, who were with her through her illness and until the end. At age 68, she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa for the first of 2 successful ascents. In the winter you could find her with her toes in the sand on a Florida beach. Barbara had visited Italy and Spain and loved to learn new things. She would never turn down a fresh garden tomato.
