Barbara Ann Castillo
1958-2017
Barbara was born to Herman and Flora Castillo on October 22, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM. Her parents preceded her in death. She passed unexpectedly on December 23, 2017 after a short illness at the age of 59. Barbara is survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Liz) Castillo; her four brothers, Lawrence (wife, Charlotte), Paul (wife, Gloria), Charles (wife, Nancy) and Robert (wife, Luciana) Castillo; as well as her sole surviving uncle and aunt, Andy and Barbara Pino; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Barbara’s favorite dance escort and dance partner was her nephew Bryan Castillo.
Barbara attended Manzano High School and graduated with the first class of the Side-by-Side program. Barbara retired after working at Adelante Industries for 20 years from 1981 to 2001. She attended adult Day Hab; earlier years were at VSA and more recently at MOXIE where she was well loved. Barbara’s favorite past-times were coloring and working on jig-saw puzzles. She became quite a traveler after the age of 55. The grandest highlight of her life was meeting her idol, Donnie Osmond. Not once, but twice, in Las Vegas and in Albuquerque.
Barbara was full of laughter and love. She can never be replaced in our hearts and will be forever missed.
