Barbara Garcia, passed away February 11, 2017. She was born June 29, 1932 to Ramon Chavez and Guadalupe Trujillo in Jarrales, NM, the oldest of ten siblings. She is survived by her children: sons, Richard Chavez and wife Rebecca, and Lawrence Chavez and wife Rosalind; daughter, Marie Trujillo; grandchildren: Richard “Ricky” Chavez Jr.; Elizabeth Josephson and husband Ammon; Steven Chavez; Antonio “Tony” Chavez; Angela Chavez; Michael Chavez; Roberto Trujillo, and Tomas Trujillo; one great granddaughter, Layla Trujillo; two sisters: Carmen Patron of Las Vegas, NV and Lupe Borunda of las Cruces, NM. Bobbie loved her children and grandchildren fiercely. Barbara was known to her friends as “Bobbie.” She was a housewife and a mother; she enjoyed: walking; playing BINGO; getting her hair done weekly (she had a standing appointment); taking the bus every morning to town and just walk around and visit with friends; watching her favorite soap “Days of Our Lives”; cooking and cleaning for her family; after her husband, Tomas, passed she would walk daily to John Brook’s groceries store instead of taking the bus to town; Saturdays she would go shopping at the mall, have lunch with friends and go to a movie; Sundays she would walk to church and have breakfast with friends. When Bobbie was placed in a nursing home, she was still known for her feisty personality; she would go around visiting everyone on her way to the beauty salon. She was loved by everyone she knew and she will be missed. A Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1860 Griegos Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. Pallbearers will be: Gabriel Herrera; Steven Reed; Roberto Trujillo; Tomas Trujillo; Steven Chavez. Readers: Roberto Trujillo.
