Barbara Lee Rogers, aged 86, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on September 28, 1937, in McLeansboro, Illinois, to the loving parents Hayward Brockett and Ruby Carrell Brockett. Barbara graduated from McLeansboro Township High School with the Class of 1955. On August 14, 1976, in Carson City, Nevada, she exchanged vows with Paul Rogers and shared 24 beautiful years of marriage with him.
Barbara was a dedicated entrepreneur and proudly owned her own business, Per Air Cargo, for 12 years. Beyond her professional endeavors, she had a heart of gold and was known as a true angel by all who knew her. Her kindness and sweetness were unparalleled. In retirement, Barbara devoted her time to volunteering for various organizations such as Meals on Wheels in Albuquerque and The Shriner's Hospital in Chicago, Ill., embodying the spirit of giving back to her community.
A faithful member of Calvary Chapel in Elk Grove, Barbara cherished spending quality time with her family. She found immense joy in their company and created lasting memories that will forever be treasured.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul E. Rogers; her youngest daughter, Elana Nightlinger; and her mother, Ruby O. Carrell. She is survived by her daughter Susan Backerman of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Linda Iwan of Schaumburg, Ill; step-daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Bob Reilling of Albuquerque, NM; aunt Linda Summers of Columbia Falls, Montana; cousin Tanya Summers of Columbia Falls, Montana; as well as grandchildren Brandon Iwan, Nicole Ichull, and Faro Vitale.
A Memorial Service honoring Barbara's life will take place at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 14th at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Southern Chapel located at 2400 Southern Blvd. SE in Rio Rancho, NM. Following the service, inurnment will be held at 2:00 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery situated at 501 N. Guadalupe Trail in Santa Fe. Barbara will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
