Romero, Barbara Ann Age, 73, passed away on Monday, January 16, after a courageous hospice stay at home. She is survived by her husband, Victor O Romero of Rio Rancho and her daughters Debra Romero and her sons, Owen Thal, Alexander Thal and Carson Thal, of Albuquerque; Delaine Miller and her husband Steve and children Jacob Miller and Jessica Miller of Des Moines, Iowa; Victoria Romero and her husband Ruben Tacino of La Verne, California; Annita Romero and her son Connor Donovan of Rio Rancho and her nephew she raised, Darryl Scott Wood of Vancouver, Washington. She was also survived by her brother Warren Wood and his wife Edwina and children Stacey and Steve; her sister Mary Wood. Her brother Robert Lee Wood, Sr. predeceased her. She was born in MacCalister, Oklahoma on May 4, 1938. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, affectionate grandmother and wonderful friend. Her generosity of spirit, fun loving nature and kindness defined her life. She passed away having endured her illness through grace and acceptance. Her memorial gathering will take place on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 9:00 am at the Daniels Family Funeral Services, 2400 Southern Blvd, Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87102. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that her friends and family make a donation in her memory to The Mariposa Program, which provides hospice care to children from indigent families. The Mariposa Program, c/o UNM Hospital Development, Two Woodward Center, 700 Lomas NW, Suite 100, Abq., NM 87102 (hospitals.unm.edu/mariposa/donations.shtml) Knowing that her memory could make such an important services available to indigent children, gives her family great comfort.
