Barbara Jean Turnbough

TURNBOUGH- Barbara Jean Turnbough, 79, of Albuquerque, went home to be with our heavenly father Friday, April 15, 2011. She was born in Oceola, Iowa to the late Paul and Marian Carlson. Barbara graduated from Burlington Iowa High School in 1950 and married Richard F. Turnbough, Sr. in September of 1950. She then moved to Albuquerque in 1956 and later worked at Montgomery Wards and as a bookkeeper at UNM. She was a charter member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and a member of Golden Wings. One of her joys was getting together with her friends for breakfast. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Franklin Turnbough, Sr. and sister, Betty Shiflett. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Bogle and husband, Edward, Laura Gillespie and husband, Stan; sons, Richard Turnbough, Jr. and wife, Barbara, Robert Turnbough and wife Theresa; Grandchildren, Slade, Heather, Cody, Cam, Brittney, Bobby, Rachel, Brent and Shawna; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Tyler and Taylor. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Deborah Hogan and family and David Shiflett and family all of Albuquerque as well as Bo, Buddy, Steve, Renie, Louanne and Di of Iowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Orr Scholarship Fund at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm, Sunday, April 17th. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 18th at Covenant Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
