Padgett, Barney  W.
Age 84, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at his home in Datil, NM. He was born in Pikesville, TN on June 2, 1931, to John M. and Etta M. (Rothwell) Padgett. Barney was a resident of Datil for the past 40 years.  He served 4 years in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Barney graduated from Polytechnic Institute in Cookeville, TN with a BA degree in Business Administration and Salesmanship using the GI Bill. He was an easy going and gentle man. He was a jack of all trades.  He was a salesman, school teacher, business man, carpenter, insurance salesman, plumber and electrician, just to name a few of the many activities he did. Barney was a man of great faith. He was an Evangelist and preached all around the state of New Mexico. He also ministered to the inmates in the Socorro jail. Barney will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  Barney  is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Watts) Padgett; his son, Gregg Padgett; daughter, Kristi M. Trujillo and husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Joshua Andrew Padgett and Alyssa Brianne Trujillo. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Living Waters (where he was pastor for many years) at Montosa Ranch in Magdalena, NM with Rev.
