Benerito Ben"" Valdez

Benerito "Ben" Valdez, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Aztec on Thursday, Feb. 24th, 2011. He was born in La Jara, New Mexico on June 11, 1933 to Siguio and Fermina Valdez. Ben loved the Lord and his family very much. He loved to pick at his guitar and play his harmonica. He will be greatly missed, “Picking and grinning for the Lord.” He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter; Linda Valdez and his grandson, Anthony Marquez. He is survived by his wife, Ramona Valdez; sons, Larry (Laura) Valdez, Sammy (Debbie) Valdez, Benny Valdez Jr., Tim Marquez and Russell Marquez; daughters, Angela Valdez, Vicky (Leonard) Dimas, Edda Varland, Sharon Sugimoto, Cindy (Jack) Crowder, and Freda (Eddie) Fierro; brother, Joe; sisters, Elvira, Orialia, and Ida and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation will take place at a later date. Fermin Talamante and Joe Trujillo will be officiating. Dinner will follow the service. Ben's entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel: 405 S.
