Benina O. Benavides

Benina O. Benavides, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM.
Benina was born on July 14, 1932 in Hagerman, NM, to Estanislado and Susana Najar.
She attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing, and UNM Behavioral Health, attaining her LPN Degree. She married Eleazar “Ben” Benavides on June 16, 1951 in Roswell, NM.
Benina was employed at Presbyterian Hospital for many years, and was a counselor at Kaseman Behavioral Health. She was a member at Ambassadors for Christ Church, and a volunteer at Bear Canyon Senior Center Adult Care.
She was preceded in death by her son, Edward David Benavides.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Eleazar “Ben” Benavides; two sons, Andy Benavides of Denver, CO, and Michael Benavides of Roswell, NM; one daughter, Susan Velazquez of Albuquerque, and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Northridge Alzheimer’s Home Staff, and Presbyterian Hospice Staff for their loving care of Benina.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 26, 2017 also at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel. A reception will follow the service in the Wyoming Sun Room Reception Center.
Private Interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
