Arviso died Jan. 20, 2010, in Albuquerque. He was born Feb. 15, 1915, in Tohatchi, into the Cliff Dwellers People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan. Arviso was and retired as a carpenter, cattle rancher, WWII Navy Veteran, steel iron worker. Survivors include his wife, Leta Arviso; sons, Juan Casus Arviso, Lexcey Arviso, Virgil Arviso, David Arviso; daughters, Linda Arviso-Miller, Maria Arviso, Lorenda Arviso; sisters, Martha Arviso-Barney, Anita Arviso; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. Arviso was preceded in death by his son, Shelby Arivso; daughter, Carolyn Arviso; parents, Charley Jesus Arviso, Baa' Arviso; brothers, Joe, John, Kenneth George, Juan Arviso; sisters, Katherine Arviso Shorty, Florence Arviso Dameon, Theresa Arviso Bowman. Pallbearers will be Lexcey Arviso, Joe Olin Casus, Oliver Casus Arviso, O'Jay Casus Arviso, David Duran, Nick Montano.
