Gutierrez, Benjamin C.
Age 81, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 in Socorro, NM. He was born in Cruzville, NM on May 2, 1934, to Eulalio and Rebecca (Trujillo) Gutierrez and was a resident of Lemitar, NM.  Ben grew up in Collins Park, NM near Reserve and was the oldest of 12 children. He quit school at an early age to help take care of his bothers and sisters and to work in the lumber mill. Ben served in the US Army and worked in the sawmills in New Mexico and Arizona as a sawyer and also farmed in Lemitar, NM for over 50 years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ben "Tino" Gutierrez Jr.; brother, Andres Gutierrez; his brother-in-laws, Benny Madril and Valentin Trujillo; and his grandchildren, Kasey and Monique Romero. Ben is survived by wife, Sandra; his children, Teresa  Gutierrez (Gilbert Montano), Patricia Gutierrez (David Lamance) , Christian Gutierrez, and Juanita (Thomas) Trujillo; step-daughter, Charla (James) Dazey; sisters, Adela Gutierrez, Alicia (Ray) Martinez, Isabel Madril and Margie Trujillo; brothers, Jimmy (Corine), Pat (Margie), Junior (Lucille), Juan (Beth), Ramon (Elsie), and Ernest (Phyllis); grandchildren, Damion Gutierrez, Angel, Isaiah, and Nyomi Trujillo, and Luke Nielsen. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 7:00 pm at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, March 4, 2016, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Magdalena.  Celebrant Rev. John Anasiudu.  Burial will take place at Magdalena Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Simon Armijo, Daniel Gutierrez, Roland Gutierrez, Damacio Gutierrez, Michael Gutierrez, and Ricky Rael.  A reception will follow at the St. Mary Magdalene parish hall immediately following the cemetery services.
