Benjamin Ray Hotelling

November 2, 1982 — November 30, 2013

Hotelling, Benjamin Ray Age 31, passed away suddenly at his home in Rio Rancho, NM, November 30, 2013. Ben is survived by his mother, Clair Mable Hotelling, and his father, F.L. Jack Hotelling of Rio Rancho, brother, Bradley E. Malay, Bristol, CT, sister, Lori J. Malay, McMinnville, TN, grandmother, Cherita A. Hotelling, Beckley, WV, and grandfather, Francis L. Hotelling, North Franklin, CT, and his extended family and friends across the United States. Ben was born on November 2, 1982, to his parents, in Beckley, WV. Ben enjoyed being Uncle Ben to his nieces and nephews, Dylan Buse, Chasey Buse, Frankie Woodlee, and Olivia Malay. He would have been overjoyed to welcome his newest nephew, Wyatt Eugene Malay, born, December 3, 2013. Ben had a great love for the Todds of Haskell, TX, Aaronlynne, Rodney, Jamie, Gabriel, and Delaina whom he considered his second family. Ben was a lover of animals and dogs in particular; he was always willing to give of himself both personally and financially to help with rescued dogs in foster care. He detested animal abusers and wrote often to his legislator to change and strengthen the laws and penalties against abusers. Ben is preceded in death by his first rescue dog, Bruno, saved from an illegal dog fighting group, and he is survived by his service dog, Tip. Ben called Bruno his loving giant, and Tip his lifesaver. Ben suffered from Type I diabetes from the age of 12, and when Tip came into his life, Tip was a true gift from God to help Ben with the problems associated with his disease. In lieu of flowers, Ben would want donations sent to Bro and Tracy Animal Welfare of Corrales, NM. Point of contact is Joyce Fay Camron. www.broandtracy.org or www.joycefay.com Cremation has already occurred and private services to scatter Bens ashes will occur with friends and family in Connecticut, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia. Son your mother and I will always remember you and love all the joy you brought to us for 31 years. The body is only a vessel to contain the spirit in this world, now your body no longer suffers the pains of this life, and your spirit soars with the Lord and his Angels now. Until we meet again in Paradise, may the wind always be at your back, may the road lift up to meet your strides and may God keep you safe in his warm embrace for all of eternity. We love you Ben, Mom and Dad. Daniels Family Funeral Services 4310 Sara Road SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124 505-892-9920
