Age 85, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016. He was born in Granger, TX on April 26, 1930, to D.D. and Estelle McMillan.
He was preceded in death by his wife La Vaughn McMillan and son James Nathaniel McMillan.
Benny is survived by daughter, Lea Ann Hinde, Evelyn Vigil, son Vaughn McMillan, sisters Jimmie Harris and Sarah Quintana; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Benny was married his love La Vaughn for 56 years. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, and gun collecting. Benny was an active member of a wealth of professional organizations. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Benny was an engineer for over 60 years. and was one of the most highly respected geo technical engineers in the history of New Mexico.
Benny left an impressive mark on this world and leaves behind a remarkable legacy. He was highly respected and admired by his peers and all who learned from him. He has no enemies and left the lives of those around him richer for having known him. He died peacefully of natural causes, surrounded by love. We mourn his passing but rejoice that he did it on his own terms.
A service will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at 2:00 pm, at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria NE, Albuquerque.
