Bertha Geraldine Moffitt

Bertha G. Moffitt passed away at her home in Farmington, NM on Wednesday May 11, 2011. She was born in Burlington, Colo. to Byron Ralph and Leah May (Chandler) Crites. Few of God’s creatures will ever compare in her love, devotion and forgiveness. On October 8, 1948 she married Melvin La Verne Moffitt. Together they had six children, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. To her, all were great and her friends were treated like family. Gerry (Bertha, Mom, and Grandma) Moffitt is preceded from this life by her parents, husband, daughter (Judy Marcy), son (Walter), Sisters Maxine (Smith), Dorleene (Thomas) and brother Norman Crites. She is survived by her children Gary and his wife Frances, Dean, Don, Brad; Sisters Louise (Williams), Marie (Perkins), Loretta (Smith), Iris (Nesmer), Beverly (Cortinese), and brothers Richard, Frank and Clifford Crites. A private service has been arranged. The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the American Brain Tumor Foundation at 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
