Betty Jane Armstrong

ARMSTRONG- Betty Jane Armstrong, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951 died on Monday, April 13, 2009. She was born on March 13, 1918 in Trinidad, CO to Fred Armstrong and Vesta Coffelt Armstrong. Betty was a graduate of Trinidad High School in 1936 and the University of Colorado in 1941 with further study at University of Wyoming and University of New Mexico. Betty was an elementary school teacher for 29 years in Albuquerque. She is a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, including Naomi Circle. Betty was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an educational honorary society, the Albuquerque Assn. of Educational Retirees, and San Marcial Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Merle. She is survived by a niece Gail Mays and husband Jim of Omaha, NE, a nephew Donald Armstrong and wife Dawn of Sioux Falls, SD, along with several great nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place.
