Betty L Boyle

BOYLE - Betty Louise Boyle of Albuquerque NM passed away at home with her eldest daughter at her side on February 11, 2011. She was born July 15, 1930 to Larry and Genevieve Harvey of Richmond CA. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from the College of The Holy Names in Oakland CA, she traveled by ship to the Pacific island of Guam to join her fiancé. She was married to Richard Daniel Boyle on August 30, 1952 at the military chapel and they enjoyed a “year-long honeymoon” on Guam. Betty taught in a number of schools, most notably St Catherine of Siena Elementary School in Martinez CA and District 10 School in Columbus NE where she made a lasting impression on many students and their families. After retirement, Richard and Betty traveled in their RV exclusively, spending their winters in Mexico and summers in Oregon, visiting family on the way to both places. In 2004, Betty and Richard moved into the Albuquerque Meadows, a 55 Retirement Community. As Richard weakened with CHF, Betty was at his side, tirelessly caring for him. After his death in 2005, Betty volunteered at her local church, played many hands of the card game, bridge, and spent time with friends and family until she succumbed to COPD. Betty is survived by her daughters Susan (Hamid) Boyle Fakhrai of Albuquerque NM, Jeanne (Bob) Rice of Columbus NE, son John (Mary Placzek) Boyle of Allen TX, grandchildren Jennifer (Chad) Boyle Griffith of San Antonio TX, Leila Fakhrai of Albuquerque NM, Tyler (Rachel) Rice of Omaha NE, Reza Fakhrai of Flagstaff AZ, Anthony Boyle and Sarah Boyle of Allen TX, great-granddaughter Keira Griffith and brother Fred Harvey of El Sobrante CA. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband, Richard.
