Betty Nell Ostrom, 89, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017. She was born on December 18, 1927, in Muhlenburg County, KY, to James Aubrey and Dorothy Nell Gray. Betty is survived by her sister, Ann O’Connell; four children: Jack W. Ostrom, Peggy J. Ostrom, Eric J. Ostrom, and Janice Ostrom Whitehead; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren W. Ostrom. Betty was a resident of Albuquerque for over eighty-years and married to Warren for forty-years. She was the fiancée of Albert Heckes. Betty enjoyed singing and traveling with the Young at Heart Choir and was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. Betty was very active with the ZIA Republican party and served as President of the organization. She enjoyed gardening, painting, the symphony, and spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Services will be held Saturday, February 11, at 10:30 AM, at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Young at Heart Choir or to a charity of your choice in Betty’s honor.
