Betty Palladini

Betty passed away peacefully on June 17, 2021, at the age of 88. Betty was born to John and Ivon Jones in Chattanooga, TN. Betty was married to Robert Palladini (deceased), preceded in death, John Palladini (son). Her surviving children are Jessica Sullivan, spouse (Mike), Thomas Palladini, spouse (Bernadette), David Palladini, Tim Palladini and (Barbara), Cindy Fajardo, spouse (Richard), Frank Palladini, Paul Palladini and (Sarah), her sister Peggy Wallace. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren.

Betty moved from Chattanooga, TN to Albuquerque in 1960. She loved the Southwest culture, the beautiful Sandia Mountains, and mostly the Southwest cuisine. In addition to being married and raising 9 children, she worked full time. It did not stop her from becoming an amazing woman that wore many hats.

Cooking was one of her many talents and passions, she immediately learned how to cook the best Mexican food, it became one of her favorite foods to eat. Her creativity in cooking landed her into food catering, in which she created into her own successful business. As time went by, she became an accomplished seamstress working for Nancy Hamilton Bridal Shop, and Dillard’s Dept Store, later establishing her own bridal business from home. She could create a beautiful wedding dress in her mind, put it on paper and the outcome was amazing. Many brides would say her talent was priceless when it came to having their own wedding dress made by her. Along with that, she also made very beautiful colorful costumes for many Flamingo Spanish dancers for many years. At the same time, she worked for our local neighborhood grocery store, Pachetti’s Sunshine Food Market for many years.

Later in life she worked for Skip Maisel’s Indian Jewelry downtown until she retired at the age of 86. She became intrigued with the different types of Indian jewelry and truly enjoyed educating others. She never went anywhere without wearing her jewelry knowing it would give her the opportunity to strike up a conversation.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to our mom. Word games, puzzles, and Scrabble became one of her favorite pastimes in retirement. I know she is playing right now! Her pleasant personality and smile were contagious, your smile and beautiful blue eyes will forever be instilled in our memories.

Mom, you will be surely missed but not forgotten. We Love You!

Thank you to the Carillo family and her nurse Clarice.

Cremation will take place, burial will be in Chattanooga, TN.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
