Age 86, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015. She was born in Socorro, NM on August 27, 1928, to Parker and Corrie Quinn. Betty was a remarkable, generous person who was always willing to help friends and family. Throughout her life she volunteered her help in many endeavors, ie; rescuing cats, dogs, and any animal needing help. Betty’s exceptional artistic skills as a floral arranger and active member of the Albuquerque Garden Club, won multiple floral arrangement awards at the New Mexico State Fair many years ago. Her amazing athletic abilities led her to multiple, excellent adventures in cross country skiing, hiking, square dancing and even water skiing. Despite the loss of both her mother and father at young ages, and being a single mother at a young age, she was still able to cultivate strong drive, ambition and independence in both her daughters to achieve successful and independent careers. Her strong support as a mother kept us motivated to never give up and to keep on going even in the face of adversity. Betty is survived by her daughters, Janet Burkhead and Judy Paulsen. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed in this world.
