Beulah R. Williams, loving and feisty Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister, left this world on July 16, 2015 while living at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Albuquerque, NM.
She will be missed by all whose lives she touched during her 92 years. Born in Oklahoma City on February 13, 1923, she grew up during the Great Depression, went to Bethany College in Oklahoma City, met Gabe Williams, and married him while he was in the US Navy as a Submariner. She lived through World War II and the raising of 3 children, Daryl, Ron, and Julie. Beulah also worked as an Elementary School Teacher, a Legal Secretary and a Paralegal in both the Federal Civil Service and Private Sector and retired after 20 plus years to join Gabe who had also retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She made many friends and “adopted” family members in their various locations across Indian Country.
The soul of generosity, she would feed you even if you were not hungry, share her wonderful roses with you, give you “a little something” as you were going out the door and even took in a stray cat or two who needed a home and a haircut. Never one to neglect her own hair, a favorite Friday was spent at the hair salon, where her natural silver white hair was the envy of all. An avid “weather watcher”, she could tell you where all the storms, floods and tornadoes were at any given time. Beulah loved music and both played and taught piano and organ over the years. Her favorite food was, without doubt, Chocolate! Chocolate ice cream, cookies, cakes, brownies, bars, or shakes all had very short “shelf-lives” at Grandma’s.
She is preceded through the gate of eternity by Gabe, her loving husband, her parents Elmer and Mary Hook, her brother Wendell Hook and her grandson, Neil Mahoney.
Beulah is survived by her sisters, Francel Wood, Marjorie Wood; sons, Daryl and his wife Cathryn Williams, Ron and his wife Iryna Williams; her daughter, Julie Claymore and the following grandchildren, Kyle and his wife Ashley Claymore, Andrea Williams and her children Faedyn, Travis, and Zoe, Nathan Williams, Matthew and his wife Carolyn Hale, Iiulia and her husband Eric Eccleston, great grand daughter Skye Mahoney, great grand daughter Cassondra Henke and her partner April Park and great great grandson, Xavier Henke.
To the many who knew and loved her, Beulah was truly “Three Times a Lady”.
A Memorial service will be held Friday, August 7, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. Following Interment at Gate of Heaven.
