Billy Joe BJ"" Harris

Billy Joe (BJ) Harris went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 25, 2010, in Aztec. He was born August 29, 1955, in Odessa, Texas, to William and Linda Harris. BJ was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Harris. He is survived by his his loving wife, Darlene; son, Brady; daughter, Stacy; father, William, of Odessa, TX; sister, Debra (Martin) Phillips, of Andrews,TX, and four grandchildren. BJ received his bachelors degree from University of Houston. BJ worked 35 years for the same company; known progressively as El Paso Natural Gas, Meridian Oil, Burlington Resources until retiring with ConocoPhillips this year. BJ leaves behind numerous friends and co-workers, his friendship and mentorship will be missed by all. BJ loved teaching both at his work and at his church, Bethel Baptist. His great passion was ministering to young and new Christians in serving the Lord. BJ grew up loving football and followed his beloved UT Longhorns faithfully.
