Billy Powers

POWERS- Billy C. Powers, 83, joined our Lord peacefully from his home on January 17, 2010. He was born on November 27, 1926, to Flossie Mae and Fred Powers. Billy grew up in Huntington, West Virginia with his two brothers, Laundle and Bob; and his sister Loyessle. Bill was married to Eunice J. Chavez on June 3, 1977. He attended Lincoln Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, and Huntington, East High. In 1942 Bill became a Mechanist Apprentice/Sky with Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. Bill worked as a mechanist in West Virginia until December of 1959, and then moved to Albuquerque as a mechanist with the Santa Fe Railway Company. He worked for several publishing companies throughout the US. Bill retired from the Santa Fe Railway Company on November 26, 1986.
