Miguel V. Quintana (Billy Quintana), 71, of Bloomfield, NM passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in Bloomfield. He was born February 17, 1940 in Rosa, CO to Miguel and Beatrice Quintana. Billy graduated from Ignacio High School in 1958. He worked for Azotea making the tunnels in Chama, NM in the early 1970’s. He then went to work for El Paso Natural Gas in 1976 and retired from there in 1995. Billy was a musician. He was one of the best bass guitar players around. Music was Billy’s number one love. He played in and had several bands over the years. In the Four Corners area he was known as Billy Q from Abique. The party was on when Billy Q walked in the door. He will be greatly missed by all. We know he’s in heaven tuning up that bass and busy starting up a band. Billy Q from Abique has arrived and heaven is going to be rockin and two stepping. We’ll never forget you Bill Q. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Beatrice Quintana, sister, Martha T. Quintana, grandparents, Daniel and Bersabe Santistevan, Vidal and Julianita Quintana. He is survived by his companion, Virgie Velasquez, sons, Mike Quintana of White Water, Co and Terrance Quintana of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters Georgia Saenz of Highlands Ranch, CO., Paula Wiman of Grand Junction, CO ,Caroline Champagne of Parker, CO and Candice Johnson of Highland, Utah and step daughter Michelle Dominquez. Also surviving is a brother Pablo (Lori) Quintana of Bloomfield, NM, sisters Rosa Quintana McGuire of Farmington, NM and Vicky Quintana of Bloomfield, NM, 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
