Brandon Benally

Funeral services for Brandon Ray Benally, 23, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Pinon Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jackson Williams will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, Pinon. Benally died Dec. 15, 2010, in Kykotsmovi. He was born Oct. 2, 1987, in Chinle, into the Manygoat People Clan for the Towering House People Clan. Benally attended Head Start and graduated from high school in Pinon in 2006 with honors. He played football, basketball, baseball, was on the honor roll, best dress award and received honors in sports. He attended Dine College for 1 1/2 years and was on the Deans List. He worked for Schmueser and associate for 2 years and received a certificate of achievement. Survivors include his parents, Juanita M.Yazzie, Steven Joe; brothers, Sylvester Benally, Stanley Benally Jr., Calvin Benally, Owen Benally; sister, Stephanie Benally. Benally was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bahe, Elsie Yazzie. Pallbearers will be Delfredson T. Begay, Luther Sage, Harrison Yazzie, Bryanson T. Begay, Jameson Lee, Tuff M. Yazzie. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Late Bahe and Elsie Yazzie’s residence, 7.5 miles SW of Pinon.
