NAGEEZI Brandon Herman "Smurf" Canuto Oct. 16, 1982 - May 28, 2011 Brandon Herman "Smurf" Canuto, 28, of Nageezi, died on Saturday, May 28, 2011, in Nageezi. He was born Oct. 16, 1982, to Annie Chavez and Herman Canuto. Smurf was very energetic and he loved his family very much. He went to high school and worked at the same time in Cuba, N.M. At various times he worked as a cook and a laborer. His last job was as a welder. He met the mother of his son through friends, but eventually separated. Soon after, he met the mother of his two daughters who they were raising together in Nageezi. He enjoyed fishing, camping and being an all-around help. He mostly enjoyed taking long walks and his daily evening walks would last up to three hours. Smurf always had a smile on his face and laughed easily. He is already missed but his memories will be forever. We love you very much, Smurf. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Teddy and Isabel Chavez and Joe Canuto. He is survived by his son, Marvin Canuto; girlfriend, Jasimal G. "Nena" Arroyo; daughters, Lai Lah and Damonique Canuto; parents, Annie Chavez and Herman Canuto; brothers, Landon Canuto and Russ Sandoval; sisters, Cassie Canuto and Joni Betoni; and grandmother, Evelyn C. Canuto.
