Sgt. Brandon Thomas McDonald, age 24 of Costa Mesa, CA, left us on July 5, 2011 for his heavenly home. He was born and raised in Farmington, NM. Brandon graduated as an honor student from Farmington High school in May 2005. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps spending time in Okinawa, Japan and one tour in Iraq. During his tour in Iraq, he worked with the Crash Fire Rescue Unit. He was currently attending college in Costa Mesa after spending 5 years in the Marine Corps. Brandon always pushed himself to strive for excellence. He loved to travel and visited Australia, the Philippines and Thailand. He also loved the outdoors, fishing scuba diving, football, wrestling and anything to challenge his adventurous spirit. Brandon is survived by his mother, Christy (Boettler) McDonald of Farmington; father Kenneth McDonald (Kim) of Grand Junction, CO; brothers, Ricky and Devon; sister, Chinelle; grandparents, Tommie (Jeff) Winters, Ted Boettler, and Paul McDonald of Farmington; grandmother, Liz Iverson of Grand Junction, CO, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him and will miss him. Viewing will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Monday, July 18, 2011 at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington.
