Brent R. Jones, Jr.

JONES-Brent R. Jones Jr. passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. He was 18 years old. He was a student at Louisiana State University. He was preceded in death by his father, Brent R. Jones Sr., his grandparents Evelyn and Fred Garcia and Felton Jones. He is survived by his mother Jeanette Martinez, his father Robert Martinez, his sister Jesse Jones, Jesse's son Tristan, his brother Zachary Jones, Zachary's girlfriend Stephanie Santana and son Gage, his brother Jaylen, his sister Madelyn, and his brother Landon. He will be forever missed by his grandmothers Tillie Martinez and Rose Jones and his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Brent will be remembered for his outstanding scholastic ability, his track and cross country achievements, his love of chess, as well as his love of reading. Brent was honored for his outstanding participation in Model United Nations and in Youth and Government. Brent was a very compassionate, funny and understanding person and had a beautiful soul. One of Brent's favorite quotes, by Will Rogers, was, "It's not what we don't know that hurts, it's what we know that ain't so."
