Burnell D. Hennigan, age 81 of Farmington, NM died on August 20, 2011 surrounded by love and family at Namaste House. He was born August 22, 1929 in Fairview, Kansas to Thomas and Marie Hennigan. He spent much of his childhood on the Hennigan family farm. He was a proud Marine and Veteran of the Korean War where he received several medals, including the Purple Heart. He married Dorothy Kennedy while posted in McAlester, OK in 1951, then moved his young family to Farmington in 1955 after acquiring a job with El Paso Natural Gas Co. A good provider, he raised four children and enjoyed being involved in their interests including coaching baseball and running in 10K and mountain runs. Burnell was a humble man, but well liked and respected by many. He will be returned to Kansas for his final resting place where he will receive Military Honors at a small family service. He is survived by his daughters, Deb Underwood, Beth Berve and Karyn Hennigan-Linn. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
