Carl Endres

ENDRES- Carl Endres, 99, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2011. He is survived by his daughters, Marjorie Tapia, Dianne Endres, and Fay Pullen; his son-in-law, Celestino Tapia; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Marjorie. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. Carl graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the Signal Corp in WWII as a 1st Lt. Carl moved to Albuquerque in 1952, where he worked for Sandia Lab until he retired in 1971. He had many interests including bowling, bicycling, kayaking, X country skiing, building cabins, and more. Carl's favorite pastime had always been walking, which he did until the very end. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who was loved by all who knew him. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later time.
