Carl R. Gary

GARY- Carl R. Gary, 86, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM, gently passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. One of seven children, Mr. Gary was born on October 18, 1924 to Anthony and Pauline (Sokowolski) Gurczynski of Detroit, MI. He graduated from Chadsey High School in Detroit, MI. After high school, he very proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Of all Mr. Gary’s accomplishments, his greatest was his devotion to his beloved wife and his three children, and he found very special pride and pleasure in his three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Philip Gary. Mr. Gary is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alice, of Rio Rancho, NM; children, Paula Smith and her husband, David, of Rio Rancho, NM, and Michael Gary of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Alexa Jacoby, Donald Gary, and Mathew Gary; siblings, Alphonse, Donald, and Lorraine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
