Smith, Carl E. 
Age 61, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018. He was born in Belen, NM on February 10, 1957, to Carl Smith and Betty Sorrells-Gaines. 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Smith.

Carl is survived by daughter, Katrina Renee Gaines of Sapello, NM, mother, Betty Gaines of Socorro, NM, sons,  Daniel S. Gaines, Karl Matthew Gaines, Brian K. (Celeste) Lucero, grandsons, Carlos Lucero, Ryan Lucero, Christian Lucero, Christopher Lucero and Jacob Smith, granddaughter, Anika Lucero, grandson, father, Carl R. Smith, step-father, Bobby Gaines, brother Daniel Gaines and wife Felipa.  Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.  

Carl lived an adventurous life filled with humor.  He loved watching western movies, restoring trucks, fishing, and especially loved the freedom of being on his motorcycle.  All who knew Carl have great memories.  He will be missed.  

The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
