Age 82, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018. She was born in Las Vegas, NM on August 23, 1935, to Juan and Efren Silva.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alonzo "Al" Garcia; daughter, Debbie Garcia Tripp; brothers, John, Victor, and Ray Silva.

Carmen graduated from New Mexico Highlands with a Bachelors degree. She was a retired Teacher from the Santa Fe School system where she worked for 37 years. She volunteered as a presenter for the Rio Rancho Senior Center and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Carmen is survived by daughter, Doris Garcia; sisters, Gloria Cain, Ellen Padilla (Amos Duran), Jean Silva, Carol (Nick) Aragon, Carla Lorraine O'Neil (Tony Gold), Yolanda (Melvin) Ortega, Theresa Wesner, Camille Silva; brothers, Leroy and Larry (Charlene) Silva all from Las Vegas, NM; grandsons, Bryan (Christine Sexson) Twyeffort, Gabriel Twyeffort, and Michael Tripp; great grandchildren, Bailey and Andrew Twyeffort all of Rio Rancho, NM; companion and family friend, Julius Meyer of Albuquerque, NM.

Rosary to be recited on Tuesday, February 27 , 2018 at 2:30 PM. Services at 3:00 PM Sara Chapel Road, 4310 Sara Road, Rio Rancho, NM.
