Age 97, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Martin and Merinda Vigil. Carmen attended Saint Vincent Girls Academy, Saint Mary's High School, and Secretary Business School, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was employed at The Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. Some of Carmen's special interests were bowling, dancing, and culinary skills. Carmen married Antonio Jose Montoya on October 27, 1939 at San Ignacio Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico. They were married for sixty-nine years at the time of her husbands death on August 30, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Jose Montoya;. daughter Frances Dolores Montoya; grandson David Anthony Montoya; sister-in-laws Marie Teresa Vigil and Rosalie Maria Montoya-Cotignola; brother-in laws Jose, Louie and Nerio Montoya. Carmen is survived by her son Anthony Richard Montoya; daughter-in-law Frances Cecilia Gomez-Montoya; brother Martin Joseph Vigil; sister-in-law Adelena (Lena) Montoya-Gutirrrez; sister-in-law Ruth Montoya; grand-daughter-in-law Betsy Kay Blanton-Montoya; great grandson Christopher Anthony Montoya; great granddaughter Courtney Nichole Montoya of Roanoke, Texas; grandson Michael Andrew Montoya, Arvada Colorado; grandson Steven Jon Montoya; granddaughter-in-law Denise Mary Koehn-Montoya; great granddaughter Alana Mary Montoya; great grandson Elliott Andres Montoya, of Snohomish, Washington; niece Teresa Marie Vigil-Muldez; nephew-in-law Fran Muldez; grand niece Rachel Marie Muldez, of Dallas Texas; niece Constance Louise Vigil-Spence; grand nephew Gabriel Spence, Las Cruces, New Mexico; and twenty-one grand nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held on Friday, August 07, 2015, at 10:30 am, with a Mass to follow at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
