Carmen Trujillo

Carmen Trujillo was born Carmen Yolanda Lesperance on February 26, 1961, to Albino Lesperance and Macedonia (Maisie) Otero Lesperance. She lost her 8-year battle with Cancer on March 9, 2025. Having grown up with 5 older brothers (Al, Bobby, Charles, Harold, Danny) and one younger brother (Luciano), Carmen loved camping, riding horses and “Harleys”; she even worked on a highway construction crew one summer!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albino & Maisie Lesperance, her paternal grandparents, Emilio and Trinidad Maldonado, her maternal grandparents, Alex and Romanita Otero; two brothers, Al and Bobby Lesperance, her brother-in-law, Phillip Anaya, Jr., her sisters-in-law, Caroline Long Lesperance and Valorie Pace Lesperance, many uncles, aunts, cousins and dear friends, and most recently, her lifetime friend and companion, Augustine “Jars” Lucero.

Carmen is survived by her son, Robert Trujillo, grandchildren Marisol (Mari) and husband, Charles; Cysco (Monique); and Karma; great-grandchildren, Eliana, Liliana, and CJ. She is also survived by her daughter, Naomi Marie Garcia and husband, Johnny, and grandsons, Jeremiah and Isaiah.

Also surviving are her sister, Rosalie Lesperance Anaya, her brothers, Charles, Harold, Danny (Patricia), and Luciano Lesperance; Uncle Pete Otero, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a viewing at Daniels Family Funeral Home in Socorro, NM, on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Rosary service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at San Acacia Cemetery, following the rosary.
