Carmine Anthony Raia

Carmine Anthony Raia passed away on May 11, 2021 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico at the age of 77.

Carmine is survived by his wife, Pauline Raia of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Dawn Raia of Rio Rancho, NM; son, Chuck Wyatt of Rio Rancho, NM; grandsons, Jake Raia, Justin Raia and Joshua Raia of Rio Rancho, NM; granddaughter, Antonia Raia of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Dolores Zarrella of Mesa, Arizona; brother, Tony Raia and wife, Carol of Mesa, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his son, Keith Raia; father, Gaetano Raia; mother, Ida Raia; first wife, Lauren Raia; brother, Thomas Raia; brother-in-law, Vincent Zarrella Sr.

Carmine was born on October 30, 1943 in Staten Island, New York to Gaetano and Ida Raia. He graduated from McKee Vocation High School in 1961.

Carmine started his own business, Raico Company. He then worked at the City of Albuquerque for 17 years.  He was also a member of the International Code Conference and International Association of Plumbing Mechanical Officials. Carmine was a devoted member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He volunteered his time at Martin Luther Elementary School, Rio Rancho Toy Run, International Balloon Fiesta, and St. Thomas Annual Food Drive. Carmine loved working on home projects and on his down time he enjoyed boating and jet skis. He will be missed very much by his family and friends.
