Carol Ann Holton

October 22, 1949 — January 8, 2024

Albuquerque

Carol Ann was born on October 22, 1949 to the late Elizabeth Ruth (Sanchez) Keams and Ramone Platero in Albuquerque, NM.

She has attended Cubero Elementary School, Washington Jr. High School and Albuquerque High School. She had various jobs including proudly working as a “Fred Harvey” girl at a Hotel resort in the Grand Canyon, a Sky Captain at the Albuquerque Airport and her most meaningful work/career was as a caregiver for several years.

We asked family and friends, “What words come to mind when you think of her?” The responses were: Selfless, loving, caring, creative, family-oriented, thoughtful, dependable, hard-working, sensitive, kind, compassionate, prayerful, quiet, chic, stylish, generous, great cook, reliable, sassy, strong, loyal, gracious, considerate, brave, sunshine, funny, festive, altruistic and a great sense of humor.

She was known to help with school projects, making award winning Adobe houses and carving pumpkins. She enjoyed feeding people and is known for her pan-fried potatoes, Pueblo oven bread, Chicken adobo and Chile stews.
She loved celebrating holidays and dressing up in costume. On several occasions she would spend every dollar she had on her loved ones. She was also a mother figure to many.

Carol was known for being small but tough and fought a brave 15 month battle with lung cancer with the help and support of family and friends, especially her husband. Her two main caregivers being her grand babies, William and Evan who learned to be selfless by following her example.

She went home to be with Jesus on January, 8, 2024. Carol is survived by her husband, Michael Holton and children; Darlene Maria (Michael), Fred Lloyd (Nicole), LaTrice, Elizabeth Nalani, Leah Anah, Michael Jr. and Micah Pearl; as well as host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Siblings: Glenda and Eugene.

She will be sorely missed, but her family and friends know she is in heaven pain-free, peaceful and joyful. The family would like to sincerely thank you for all the meals, cards, flowers, messages, love and continued support.
