Carol Elizabeth Griswold

Griswold, Carol Elizabeth Age 84, passed away on Thanksgiving day, Thursday, November 28, 2013 at her home in Socorro, NM. She was born in Omaha, NB on April 3, 1929, to Gerald and Helen Cleffner Daley. Carol first came to New Mexico in the early 1950's where she worked at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, NM. It was while working at Holloman that she met her future husband, George Griswold, at a dance at what was then the New Mexico School of Mines. She was married to George from 1952 until 1970. Carol has been a resident of Socorro for almost 60 years and was an avid golfer. She received a degree in Radiology from Creighton University and worked for approximately 22 years at Socorro General Hospital. Her siblings include Jean, Jerri, Tom, George and Jack with strong ties to Arizona. Carol is survived by her four children: Cynthia Rex, George "Pat" Griswold, James Griswold and Robert Griswold; and her four grandchildren; Carly, Michael, James and Tucker. A Memorial Service celebrating Carol's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation of a toy may be given to a needy family this Christmas in Carol's honor.
