Carolyn Sinwell, a radiant soul raised in the heart of Texas, journeyed through life with grace, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to service. Born in Midlothian and later calling Dallas her home, she left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. On April 9, 2024, at the age of 87, Carolyn embarked on her final journey, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished for generations to come. Carolyn's story began at Southern Methodist University, where she cultivated lifelong friendships as a proud member of Chi Omega Sorority. Her time there was marked not only by academic achievement but also by a deep sense of sisterhood and service, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to making a positive difference in the world. After graduation, Carolyn took to the skies as a flight attendant for Northwest Orient, where her warm smile and compassionate spirit brightened the lives of countless passengers. Her tenure in the air was characterized by acts of kindness and empathy, reflecting her innate desire to uplift others. Beyond her professional endeavors, Carolyn was deeply committed to giving back to her community. She lent her time and energy to organizations such as the Assistance League of Albuquerque and Casa Angelica Auxiliary, where her selfless dedication left an enduring impact on those in need. As a Navy officer's wife, Carolyn stood as a pillar of strength and resilience, supporting her husband and family with unwavering love and devotion. Her membership in the Retired Officers Wives Club spoke volumes about her commitment to service and camaraderie among military families. A loving mother and grandmother, Carolyn's heart overflowed with love for her family. Her nurturing spirit and boundless affection created a close-knit family that cherishes her memory and the values she instilled in them. A true artist at heart, Carolyn shared her creative talents as a makeup artist for Musical Theater Southwest, infusing each production with her passion for storytelling and her eye for beauty. In addition to her remarkable affiliations, Carolyn was a cherished member of the Cosmopolitan Club, Clipped Wings, and Daughters of the King, where she fostered meaningful connections and friendships that enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Though preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Sinwell, daughter Mary Pinto, and grandson Daniel Martin, Carolyn's love endures as a guiding light for her surviving loved ones. She is survived by her daughter Carol Martin, son Stephen Sinwell, and six adoring grandchildren, who will carry her legacy of love in their hearts forever. Carolyn’s legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid her farewell, we celebrate a life well-lived and cherish the memories she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Carolyn, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be sent to The Assistance League of Albuquerque The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 10 at 10:00 am, at St. Chad’s Episcopal Church, 7171 Tennyson NE, Albuquerque. There will be a reception to follow.
