Catherine G Gross

Catherine G. Gross, 87, of Farmington, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Life Care Center in Farmington. Catherine G. (Armstrong) Gross was born in Hebron, Nebraska in 1923 to Dr. and Mrs. Fredric Clinton Armstrong. She received an R.N. degree at Creighton University School of Nursing in 1945. She married Francis "Frank" Charles Gross, September 1947 in Cascade, Iowa. Catherine and her family moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1957. She was employed by Mercy Hospital as a Registered Nurse for 20 years. Catherine and Frank moved to Farmington in 1990. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Armstrong; sisters, Isabelle Reilly and a baby sister who died at birth. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank Gross; sister, Mary Armstrong, now Sister Althea of the Benedictine Order in Torreon, Mexico; sons, Steve Gross and wife Leanne of Forest Knolls, CA, Dennis Gross and wife Pat of Farmington, two granddaughters and one great granddaughter.
