Catherine “Katy” Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM was embraced by our Dear Lord Wednesday May 19, 2021 and taken into his heavenly home at age 77.  She was born December 12, 1943 to Amilia and Christobal Encinias of San Miguel County.

 

On April 29, 1977 Katy was united in Marriage to her husband Morris Gonzales who she loved so much.  She was a loving mother of her three sons, best sister to her siblings, and the best role model to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She worked in retail and had a love for selling fancy china.  She loved to dance and always loved being with her family.  She was an amazing mother, grandmother, aunt, great-grandmother, and friend, as well as just one amazing heart to everyone who knew her.  Katy was always the one to step up and help anyone in need and she was the backbone of our family.  Her heart was big and generous to everyone she knew.  She will be missed, but forever loved and cherished in our hearts.

 

Katy was preceded in death by her mother Amilia; father Christobal; husband Morris; sons Christopher and Arthur “Tudy”; grand-daughter Roxanne; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; and several nieces and nephews. 

She is survived by her son, Michael; her granddaughter who was more like her daughter, Monique (and husband Richard); sister Trinnie; grandchildren: Michael Jr, Stefanie, April, and Felicia; 12 great grandchildren; and her best friend Donna. She is further survived by many other friends and family who will love and miss her.

 

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, May 28, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Mt Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
