Cecilia H Vigil

  Cecilia Helen Vigil, age 84, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 in her bed with her family at her side.

   She is predeceased by her husband Julian J Vigil, parents Joe and Pauline Padilla, one sister Mary Cruz, two brothers Joe Padilla, and Ernest Padilla.

   She is survived by her two children, Debbie Vigil and John Vigil; seven grandchildren Melissa Vigil, Nicole Frye, Alycia Ortiz, Elijah Vigil, Joey Vigil, Jesse Vigil, and Johnny Jay Vigil; eight great grandchildren Karissa Vigil, Josiah Vigil, Janessa Gonzales, Tavian Frye, Juliet Frye, Violet Frye, Matthew Gonzales, and Baby Gonzales; Her brothers and sisters Dorothy Gutierrez & her husband Eloy, Alberto Padilla & wife Mary, Ralph Padilla & wife Patsy,  Jerry Padilla & wife Lily, and Sister-in-laws Mary Padilla & Beatrice Padilla, as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

   Cecilia was born in Clayton N.M born to Joe and Pauline Padilla. She graduated from Clayton High School and moved to Tucumcari where she met her lifetime husband Julian J Vigil in 1954. They traveled a lot with Julian’s work until 1984 where they moved to Albuquerque and spent the rest of their lives together.

   Her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters and being surrounded by family. She loved music and dancing, reading romance novels and watching her favorite television shows. She was a strong, happy, and loving woman who lived life to the fullest and always took care of her family. Her laugh was contagious, and her smile could light up the room. She will be very missed by many.

   A rosary will be recited on Wednesday January 17, 2018 at 6:00pm at Daniels Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd northeast, refreshments to follow. Mass will be Thursday January 18, 2018 at Risen Savior at 10:00am, with reception to follow at Daniels Funeral.
