Davis, Charles Craig (“Chuck”)
Age 81, was born January 25, 1934, in Asheville, NC, son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Davis of Morgantown, WV, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2015 at his home in Rio Rancho, NM. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Renata Davis; his three children, daughters, Susan Davis Downey of San Jose, CA and Sandra L. Davis of Phoenix, AZ, and son, Charles (“Chuck”) Davis of Gilbert, AZ; five grandchildren. Chuck grew up on his parents’ Christmas tree farm in Morgantown, WV; went on to become a proud West Virginia University Mountaineer who played trombone in concert and marching bands throughout his school years, graduating with a BS in mechanical engineering; he then earned his MBA from Northern Illinois University. His work took him to Wisconsin where he met and married Renata and then to Elgin, IL, where he lived for several years while raising his family. His career as an engineer and manager for firms such as Cutler-Hammer, Motorola and UARCO resulted in his being the holder of several patents. His hobbies and interests over the years included golf, softball, classical music, history, war movies and science fiction. He also had a passion for architecture and design and was deeply proud of his homes in Elgin and Rio Rancho which were built with his direct input and involvement. He was much loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all of us. Services will be held at a later date.
