Charles Roy Davis

DAVIS - Charles (Roy) Davis passed away June 17, 2011 at the age of 67 after a valiant battle of pancreatic cancer. He was born in Amarillo, TX November 29, 1943. Roy retired from the Marine Corps as a highly decorated officer who toured the world while serving two tours in Vietnam. For the remainder of his life he was involved in various local military fraternities. After retiring from the military he returned to Portales where he became a successful business man in sales and nursery business. He then moved to Albuquerque where he met his beloved surviving wife, Carlene. Roy was a nurturer of nature, loved life, created great gardens, and cherished every moment with his family, especially his mother, sons and grandsons. Survivors include, his mother Ima Gene McCormack; sons Lonny; Darrell and wife Sindi, and Todd and wife Lisa; grandsons Brandt; Brennan; Andrew, and Zachary. He is also survived by brothers Sam and wife Mary; Bill and wife Valda, and Jim and wife Deanna; sisters Alfreda and husband Larry, and Ruth and husband Jimmy. Also lovingly survived by stepchildren Shawn; Lucy and husband Dan; Lisa; Julie and husband Paul; Vikki and husband Art, and Robin, and their children Cody; Casey; Brianna, and Reece. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 2400 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Many thanks to the caring Hospice staff at the Veterans Hospital who made his last days very peaceful.
