Charles Edward Ryff, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born December 6, 1953 in Jersey City, NJ to Charles “Warren” and Marie Agnes (nee GUTH) Ryff.
He was raised in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey along with his other siblings, Beverly “BJ” and Jean. He attended Bergen Catholic, an all-boys high school and later attended college at Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT).
In 1974, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, stationed in England. He was discharged from the Air Force in 1978, with an honorable discharge after proudly serving his country.
Charles lived in the San Antonio & Kerrville, Texas, area from 1978 to 1989. In 1989, he moved to the Albuquerque/Rio Rancho area where he resided for the remainder of his life. Charles worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years. He enjoyed his 1930 Model A Sedan, “Bonnie”, as well as other vintage cars. He loved playing bass guitar, astronomy, coin collecting, old books, and crossword puzzles.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Agnes Ryff.
He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte (Brannon) Ryff; his children, Andrea M. Henderson (Seth Henderson), Christopher E. Ryff, and his first wife, Sofia Orta; his step-children, Amy L. Stock (Johnny Foster), Alicia M. Chittim (Tate Chittim), and Edward Allen Hadley (Natalie Hadley); 6 grandchildren, Evelyn A. Ryff, Rory J. Chittim, Owen Chittim, TJ Chittim, Wesley Chittim, and Tristan H. Hadley; and his siblings, Jean Hohnecker (Ron Hohnecker) and Beverly J. “BJ” Quesnel (Omer Quesnel).
He was a man of great faith, and an ardent student of the scriptures. A friend to everyone, he was gregarious, good-natured, and loved by very many.

Committal service will be on Tuesday 8/11/2020 at 10:30am at Santa Fe National cemetery. Due to COVID, the committal service is limited to family only.
