Charles R. Sorsby (Charlie) of Edgewood NM passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM, at the age of 78. He was born in New Martinsville, WV, May 24, 1936, and grew up in Warwood, WV, where he graduated from Central Catholic High School. He earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico. Charlie worked at A.T.E.S. Technical School, NCR, and then Los Alamos National Laboratory where he retired after 20 years of service. Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles F. Sorsby, his mother, Augusta E. Sorsby, and two brothers, Robert L. Sorsby and William F. Sorsby. He is survived by daughter; Heather Sorsby Gaulden and her husband Drew Gaulden of Houston, TX, daughter Melanie Sorsby of Los Alamos, NM, sister Judi Sorsby Kesner and her husband Harley Kesner of Wheeling WV, sister-in-law Sally Ernest Sorsby of West Liberty, WV as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Charlie is also survived by his beloved bird dog, Sue. He will be missed beyond words. A memorial service will be held in Wheeling, WV at a date yet to be determined.
