Funeral services for Charley Bowman Jr., 55, will be 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 14, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, St. Michaels. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Fort Defiance. Bowman died Dec. 11, 2009, in Fort Defiance. He was born Jan. 20, 1955, in Fort Defiance, into the Water's Edge People Clan for the Salt People Clan. Bowman was in the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Placement Program and returned to Navajo land. He was employed with Navajo Nation Natural Resources and NECA as a land supervisor, worked at P&M Mine and was a silversmith. He enjoyed playing sports, basketball, football, and bullriding, team and calf roping and being with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Cecelia Charley; son, Davin Bowman; mother, Earlene Frazier; step-father, Mathew Frazier; brothers, Ronald Bowman, Nathaniel Bowman, Emery Bowman; sisters, Gloria Bowman, Yolinda Bowman, Darlene Sam, Marlene Frazier; five grandchildren. Bowman was preceded in death by his father, Charley Bowman Sr., brother, Everette Bowman, grandmothers, Ethel Bowman, Irene Brown. Pallbearers will be Daryl Laughing, Walter Perry, Lance Bowman. The family will meet at Frazier Home in Sawmill next to LDS Church, Dec. 12. Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements
